Vice Jakarta Governor Basuki T Purnama surprised knowing that the residents in Kampung Pulo, Kampung Melayu Urban Village, Jatinegara Sub-District, East Jakarta, have land certificates. As known, Kampung Pulo is located in watershed (DAS).
We will brush off Kampung Pulo. Do it forcibly. What makes us confused is that why a shop-house (ruko) there (Kampung Pulo) has (land) certificate?
“We will brush off Kampung Pulo. Do it forcibly. What makes us confused is that why a shop-house (ruko) there (Kampung Pulo) has (land) certificate?” expressed Basuki, Tuesday (8/12).
To be able to control landownership in the city, Basuki hopes for the National Land Agency (BPN) to be under the supervision of Jakarta Provincial Government.
Ciliwung River Overflows, Kampung Pulo Inundated“We wish for BPN to be under our supervision. If they (Kampung Pulo residents) have land certificates, we cannot do demolition,” he told.
According to Basuki, the residents who already have land certificates also do not want their lands being paid in accordance to Tax Object
Selling Value (NJOP). Instead, they request for market price.Because of that, Basuki asks the citizens to obey the rules applied in flood anticipation programs which need cooperation from the citizens. If they do not want their houses flooded, the citizens must be in order and enforce the applicable rules.
“Don’t say I’m hard. Since you demanded comfort, we’ll control everything. We have no other option,” he asserted.
This issue comes up after heavy rain fall poured in Jakarta yesterday, Monday (8/11) and caused some areas flooded. And as usual, inundations were followed by traffic congestion.
